A witty slogan for a jovial World Wide Web page

Updates

I bring a big themes update! Indeed, there are now two more themes!

Note that while these are simply stylesheets internally, they do vary the layout and spacing a bit, especially on the index page! Do try them all out! Also, if you're running into issues, please press your equivalent of Ctrl+Shift+R to reload your cache.

Enjoy!

Hey! So I uncovered an old site layout from 2022 that was a recreation of an even older layout, based on a color iPod Nano's interface. It was going to be a new dcb.somnol version when I first was working on it, but I ran into some issues fitting everything I wanted to put on it on a tiny iPod screen. I got the idea to retool it to display Last.fm info the other night, so I started working on a copy of it, making this its first proper debut.

It has a couple features that the remake was going to sport, like fetching random lynx images and generating a random mp3.com playlist. This part fortunately only took a little rewiring - I resurrected my old random lynx API and made my random mp3.com playlist generator modular so I could get them working in the iPod interface again. For fun, I also added Obsidian, a game I made in Construct 2 in May 2020. Check those out in the Extras menu.

The player interface is not linked on the index yet, mainly because I still want to implement my own Last.fm script for it, and also tighten up the URLs, but you can try it early if you want! I'll just drop it on the index as a subsite when it's ready.

In more housekeeping, I fixed word wrapping in the Guestbook and other preformatted text, and made the 88x31 buttons at the bottom footer nice and crispy again on HiDPI displays with image-rendering: pixelated;. I also updated the Somnolescent Navigator with a link to RUINxCIEL's new site, so check that out when you can!

Next time,

And we're live! Links to different places, obviously this page, a few working themes, and the first MOTD. That is, Music of the Day. I was gonna call it "Index music" but the acronym was too reasonably understandable to pass up.

It's good to be back!

Okay! So I've been sitting on a TON of files for a website redesign, and the way I was going to do it before was never ever gonna get done (unless I crunched prior to the next full moon), so I thought I'd just get SOMETHING up here soon.

For now, the old v6 URLs still work, but I'll be reintroducing this content as it makes sense. It's a bold move, but hopefully, HOPEFULLY it'll work out.

Love you guys,
